Three Years, Milestone by Milestone
First Cohort Launched
Code for Change launched its inaugural batch in Nashik with 28 students. 22 of them shipped their first project — a hyperlocal farmers' market directory.
Green Tech Pilot
Green Tech Innovators piloted in Amravati with 40 students deploying 8 soil-moisture sensors across 3 farms. The data caught an early-season drought signal two weeks before official advisories.
First Connected Classroom Hub
Our first solar-powered hub went live at ZP Primary School, Gadchiroli. Within 3 months, enrollment in the school's after-hours digital class exceeded 100 students.
Teacher Digital Academy
100 ZP teachers trained in the first year across Nashik, Pune, and Sindhudurg districts. The WhatsApp peer community hit 200 members by year end.
Open Learning Library v1
1,200 resources curated and made available offline across all Connected Classroom hubs. Student downloads exceeded 5,000 in the first month.
Youth Innovation Lab
The lab launched with 10 seed grants. Vinayak Gaikwad's vendor-buyer app was one of them — it now has 200+ active vendors in Nagpur with no middlemen.
2,000 Learners Milestone
EDLF crossed 2,000 active learners across all programs, spanning 7 districts from the Konkan coast to Gadchiroli's eastern forests.
Voices from Maharashtra
Real students. Real teachers. Real change — from Nashik to Nagpur and the corners of Maharashtra in between.
“Growing up in a farming family near Nashik, I had never touched a computer before EDLF. After the bootcamp I built a small website for my father's produce. Today I work as a junior developer at a Pune startup.”
“Our team built a soil-moisture sensor using the Green Tech program. We piloted it on 12 farms in our taluka. Water usage dropped noticeably and a few farmers told us their yields improved.”
“The digital hub set up in our ZP school changed everything. Students who couldn't afford private coaching now use the same resources as kids in the city. Attendance in my class has never been better.”
“The Teacher Digital Academy gave me practical skills — how to use video lessons, quiz tools, and share notes with parents over WhatsApp. My students are more engaged and their parents are finally in the loop.”
“Internet in our village cuts out often. The offline Open Learning Library meant I could keep studying for competitive exams even during power cuts. I cleared the MPSC preliminary — something I had dreamed of for three years.”
“EDLF's mentors helped me turn a rough idea into a working app connecting local vegetable vendors directly with buyers. We have around 200 vendors using it now and no middlemen. Small change, real difference.”
“I was told tech wasn't for girls from small towns. EDLF's all-girls batch proved otherwise. I finished the course and now volunteer on weekends, teaching basic computer skills to children in my neighbourhood.”
